Hi Vanessa:
When I first read your entry I thought, “ questions, so many questions”. I love your questions. I wish that I was the one who had your answers but unfortunately, I’m not. You see, when it comes to spiritual clarity, I believe that the only one who possesses your answers is you. Your life is so uniquely yours, that in order to find answers that will suit it fully, you need to experience that which is yours by divine right and expression; just as you are an expression of divine right.
Now, that being said, I would like to address your question of what is a light-worker. And I do this not because I feel I have “THE” answer. I do this to offer an alternative perspective that may or may not fit the popular view of what a light-worker is.
First of all, I have a hard time with the term light-worker in and of its self. Because in order for there to be a light-worker, the opposite of that indicates that there must also be a dark-worker. And regardless of what you may believe about the dark, even Hitler thought he was doing the right thing…as much as I abhor what he did. He felt he was doing the world a favor. I know this may seem a bit extreme, but I’m being dramatic to emphasize a point.
A light-worker to one person can be another person’s extreme opposite. And if that is the case, who is truly in the light and who is not? I have met plenty of people who try to cause harm to others who claim to be light-workers. Their plans have never been successful, but so what?
So let’s drop the idea of light-worker and change it to “one who serves with light”. In order to be one who serves with light, one must commit oneself to be of service to others and within the framework of service, model as much as humanly possible the qualities of compassion, connection, endurance, integrity, honesty, harmony, mercy, inner beauty and wisdom…amongst other things. That’s criteria number one.
Criteria number two is that h/she “who serves with light” must do so in a way that combines the unique gifts and strengths that h/she was born or come into the world with. These gifts must also be strengthened as h/she deepens their commitment to serving others.
Criteria number three is that while modeling and using the tools that you were given to help others, you will know that you are on the best path if you experience the passing of time at a rate other than what you’re used to. Meaning that time, for you, will fly. As a result, you will change and grow as person and enhance your relationship to time.
People who master this tend to look very young for their age. They do not dis-ease as rapidly as others do. They also tend to heal faster and can manifest things quite quickly.
It is said that when Mother Theresa gave her word that she would speak at a function during wartime, the war stopped, just because she gave her word. She said to the person who asked her to attend “yes, we will be there at the time you have requested”. When she said “we” she was referring to herself and the light. Needless to say, she (or they) made it.
When I think of “one who works or serves with light”, I think of being so imbued with spiritual stamina that nothing, no works nor actions of humankind can stop you from doing what you and the light are meant/born to do together.
I hope that helps, Vanessa. And just one more thing; no matter what happens, no matter what results you get or answers you discover, never quit. You are the light, and you are the way.
Take care,
Joseph
