Hi Vanessa:

I want to start my entry to the page by letting you know that I have been really hard pressed to answer your questions. It’s not that I have been unwilling but, the first time I tried this (about 3 weeks ago), my computer crashed. I couldn’t believe it! I type my answers to the questions posted on Ask Joseph on a brand new Compaq Presario that is practically guaranteed not to crash on a simple word processing program and just as I was wrapping up this huge answer to your questions, BOOM! Gone! Everything, including my willingness to write, vanished. Which is why it’s taken me so long to re-write my answer to you. Thank you for being patient with me, Vanessa.

You know, it was a funny thing, but just as soon as my beautiful brand new laptop, my first one ever, the one that is practically infallible, crashed on me while working on your questions, my immediate thought was, “uh-oh, don’t write about the dark side, Joseph, leave it to George Lucas. It’s evil. And then I thought, get real.

Vanessa, first of all, know that any two living beings can have an intense spiritual connection be it a dog and a cat, a boy and a tree, a teacher and a student, a woman and the ocean etc. So long as it has a spirit, we can connect.

Secondly, to say that any one being can bring something to alter another person’s life or perceptions implies that it is the persons involved who are solely responsible for that experience and not the force that connects them. I guess what I mean is that, to say that one can bring joy or negativity to another implies that the giver is someone who has power over the receiver when in actuality, if you were to break it down, means that others have power over us, putting God second and those who receive, third. I’m not sure if this stands out for you or not, but the idea of someone other than the divine having some sense of control over how another person responds is an idea that I think might benifit from some further investigation.

Vanessa, No one can bring you anything that is not according to divine will, regardless of how it is perceived by the receiver or the sender. (Control S).

If something comes to you in the form of negativity, you can bet that there is a lesson that needs to be learnt; otherwise that negativity would not have the power to be able to manifest. Once that lesson is learned and cemented, (control S and get the floppy ready), we then are able to use the strength that we have gained from that experience and convert it to wisdom so we don’t repeat it.

I know that may seem like a lot to ask but the truth of the matter is that when my computer crashes, is it my fault for not saving what I had written or did the computer bring negativity to me?

Next time, I think I’ll just write my responses on line and not think about it.

Take care,
Joseph
