Dearest Faith:
I can not tell you how honored I am to know that you have chosen my site as one of your favorites. You have paid me such a compliment, thank you so much. I promise you to do my best to uphold the integrity of this website, and to try to make you feel proud that this place is a place that you can call home.
When I first read your email I thought, “ thank God she’s ok”. I’m hearing a lot about your discomfort and I will address that in a bit but first things first. Your brain tumor is benign. Thank God!
So let’s talk about the discomfort you feel while trying to get to know God. It’s not uncommon. In fact, it’s a vital part of the process.
When the divine enters the physical world, it literally scares the “Be-Jesus” out of people. When we pray to see The Divine more clearly what we are also doing, simultaneously, is sending ourselves a signal that indicates a need to align ourselves better with our inner nature. In other words, messages that call on us which are out of the normal range of what we are used to are not meant to cause fear and discomfort, even though they often can. What they are meant to do is call on us to go deeper within ourselves to find a deeper meaning to why our life is the way it is, and learn to connect to Spirit others and ourselves in more deeper and respectful ways. By doing so, we are able to develop more fully and thus live more abundantly on the planet.
The relationship we have to God is a mirror of the relationship to ourselves. When God sends us messages that are uncomfortable and confusing to us, it is a call for us to look within our own lives and ourselves to see what that confusion and discomfort is a reflection of. As we rectify that within, the fear that we are feeling in both our relationship to The Divine and ourselves dissipates.
I hope that helps, Faith.
Take care and know that every time you say hello, so too do I to you.
Joseph
