Who is Lorne The Psychic?

Well, to make a long story short, I am.

From 1994 to 1999, I had a regular segment on a radio show in Vancouver. The time slot for the show could not have been better. We, the DJ and I, did the afternoon drive home show on Rock radio and the music we played was both modern and classic Rock and Roll. To this day, I am still stunned that it flew as long as it did.

In order to get an idea of what this used to sound like, close your eyes, and imagine a radio announcer's voice inside your mind - (use this voice when I cue you in) - This is what it was like:

Lorne The Psychic in ActionSong finishes playing, DJ comes in, we talk a bit, and at the end of the break, the DJ would say (cue) "And we'll be right back with some AC/DC, Metallica, KISS, and a quick meditation, right after this". It was so bizarre. But it was different and it worked. Our ratings were always number one in our time slot. But like all good things, the show finally came to an end.

In 1996, I had made the decision that I wanted to start going by the name Joseph, which is my middle name. The management at the station asked me not to because by that time, we had a following and we were getting listeners from across North America via the internet and our presence across the province of British Columbia was phenomenal. So much so, that I wound up with a TV spot because of it, which also ran for two years.

Lorne is my given name, and it is the name that I used on TV and on radio - people often get attached to what they see in the media.

Joseph is the name that I prefer to be called and is the name that I now go by. I am grateful to everyone who remembers and who was touched by Lorne the Psychic. The memories and events that occurred in my life as a result of these experiences were extraordinary.

Joseph nowIf you would like to get a taste of what the show sounded like, by all means, give a listen to the Radio Show MP3 file. It was recorded in the mid 90's, and is a nice mixture of what people used to listen to while they were driving home from work in their cars.

If you are reading this, and have known me for a while, then by all means, download the file and relive some of the classic days of Rock radio in Vancouver.

Thank you for reading this and for listening to the MP3. Please feel free to share it with a friend.

Yours in Spirit
